An aunt twice over today!

Or at least in the next 24 hours. My sister just had a baby boy and my SIL is in labour and has gone to the hospital this morning. I am so excited!!!

I also have a whole bunch of emotions that are not happy, but I am trying to put those aside. These negative emotions stem from a whole bunch of family drama that was going on during monkeys birth, which resulted in alot of tension and a lack of celebration on my side of the family. It was really hard because when my sister had her first child I flew oversees to see them and I was annoyed that none of them could put aside there differences to celebrate in a traditional indian manner. I am not going to get bitter that the birth of her second child will be met with that celebration because they have sorted out their issues (which had nothing to do with me). Mr.SM's family was and always has been awesome. I love my sister and am super happy for her. That is what is important. Eventually I will get up the couragous to get to a therapist and deal with all the issues I have with my parents and family...

Congratulations! That's so exciting! I hope everyone is doing well.

Anyone who says they have no issues with their parents/family is either lying or in denial... although obviously there is a spectrum.

Congrats! Being an aunt (or auntie, in my case) is great!

I have to second Cath's thoughts on the lying or in denial bit. It's unfortunate that they weren't able to set their problems aside, especially at an exciting time.

Congrats - and twice in such a short period!

I'm sorry that your family were not able to put their differences aside when monkey was born.

Cath - thanks! He's so adorable and huge >8bls! Regarding family - I think everyone has issues, but my parents are a whole class of issue on their own...I am just grateful i have awesome inlaws

Amanda - being an auntie has been awesome.

Mrs.Ch - my SIL still hasn't given birth but I am sure it will be soon. Reading your post on your parents totally reminded me of mine. Like you, nothing I did was a big deal...I really should write a post on it.

The arrival of new little people is always awesome!

And having family drama interfere with that is just really sucky.
